Seeing Green During Meditation

Seeing Green During Meditation

A consistent meditation practice brings with it a whole host of interesting experiences both internally and externally.

As we deepen our awareness we begin to perceive things differently and with more clarity. One common experience when meditating is seeing different colors, shapes and forms.

It’s not always obvious why we are having certain experiences or if we should even pay attention to them at all.

In today’s post I want to explore the meaning of seeing green color during meditation.

What does seeing green while meditating mean?

One of the first colors I noticed in meditation was blue, not long after this I saw green. This was in one particular meditation when I was in the process of opening up my heart chakra.

I saw a deep green color to the side of my vision, and as I allowed my awareness to settle on it, I saw a beautiful cord streaming towards my heart.

Heart chakra opening

Seeing green during meditation often connects to a heart chakra opening:

  • You are clarifying your boundaries
  • You are opening up to new opportunities
  • You are learning to love yourself
  • You are doing deeper shadow work
  • Your discernment is increasing

You’ll often know your heart chakra is opening because it feels as if energy wants to burst out of your chest…literally.

The heart chakra, our hearts (energetic not just physical) hold sooo much. We are incredibly resilient as humans, although that cannot be taken for granted. So many of us are carrying around lifetimes of pain, grief, sadness.

Oftentimes we don’t even realize our heart chakras are overloaded because they have such a capacity. As we do the inner work a lot of this old stuff can flow out all at once.

Opening the heart chakra is not for everyone – it requires a steady balance between opening yourself to new opportunities while protecting your boundaries when you need to.

Sometimes we perceive a green color in meditation as a sign this center is becoming active or needs to!

This color can also represent needing space. Needing to be in wide open spaces quite literally; in nature, a bigger home or work environment. But also, to have more space to think and decompress, or to just be ourselves without other peoples’ inputs.

Do colors during meditation always have a meaning?

Not all colors hold deep significance for us, and in a sense it’s important to remain objective – funny phrase to use when we’re talking about these things right.

Some colors represent a momentary awareness of something, not always deep metaphysical or personal message. The most important thing you can do when you perceive any colors during meditation is to simply let go.

Allow these experiences and then release them. If you see a color multiple times over the course of weeks, months, even years then there is probably a deeper message there for you. Otherwise just know your awareness is growing stronger and sink into your practice & the present moment.
