Green Aura Meaning & Personality Traits

Green Aura Meaning

We all have an aura, think of it like a second skin that protects our energy and filters how we perceive the world and what we allow in.

Everyone’s aura is slightly different color, shape and configuration, depending on the type of life they’ve had and their larger purpose.

I have been doing aura readings for people the last few years and in that time I’ve seen a lot of different types of auras. In today’s post I want to talk about the meaning behind a green aura and the common personality traits associated with it.

How do you know what aura color you have?

There are a few different ways to know what your aura color is.

You can learn to see auras for yourself, this can take a bit of practice and trial and error but I believe we all have this capability. We are all psychic and sensitive to different degrees.

For some people aura colors appear directly in front of them in the way you’d expect, for others aura colors can come through as a feeling or sensation, or just the word for the color itself.

Another popular way to get your color is through Kirlian photography.

Finally, you can also go to someone who is practiced in reading auras to get their insights. I think all aura readings are somewhat subjective, and will be based upon your current mood/phase in your life, along with the individual practitioners experience.

Can aura color change?

Before we proceed it’s important to note that our aura color can change! Depending on the phase of life we are at different colors come in and out, different energies are needed for different reasons.

So the traits below are to be taken with a grain of salt.

What does having a green aura mean?

In my experience a green aura is a little less common than orange, red, yellow and most people have green but not as the main color.

Green is most obviously connected to the heart chakra:

  • Opening up to new opportunities
  • Welcoming in love
  • Doing the shadow work
  • Protecting your energy
  • Practicing discernment

The heart chakra governs the love for what we do and who we do it with.

The heart chakra energy goes a bit further than just ‘love’ although that’s not to be underestimated. The heart chakra also acts as the center of shadow work, because the heart always invites us to be honest and reflective with ourselves and others.

The heart is soft in a lot of ways, there’s that dimension to it, but it is incredibly fierce because it has to. It burns away any impurities in our energy system. It’s clear you are trying to activate your heart to its full potential.

I say that the heart is the chakra with the most capacity (if we can even categorize chakras that way) and so it is most difficult to notice we have a blocked heart chakra. When our other chakras are blocked it’s quite obvious and the effects on our lives are more straight-forward. For example – a blocked throat chakra will have obvious impacts on how clearly we speak up and express ourselves.

With the heart we can be hurting or restricted heavily and still feel a lot of heart-centered energy coming through because it is so powerful.

A green aura represents a very transformative period in our lives where we are aligning with our heart and everything that isn’t meant to be in our lives is phasing out.

Green can represent a deep connection to nature. People with green auras should spend as much time in nature as they can, with regular rituals that ground and energize them.

Your aura will often turn green in phases of your life where you are doing a lot of healing.

Emerald green

Different shades of green also convey different meanings. Sometimes in my readings I perceive an emerald green that looks more ‘metallic’ or ‘electric’. Anytime I see a color take on this form I know that person is very developed and matured in a particular center.

Light green

This color represents a certain level of peace. Someone who loves in a very balanced, mature and grounded way. They help others but don’t neglect themselves. They love others deeply but don’t allow this to take them away from themselves.

Dark green

A dark green aura can represent some deeper wounds need to be cleared – deeper work needs to be done. Deeper green can also represent some rigidity in your life, that you need space to fully grow into your self! Deep green can also represent maturity and groundedness as the other two (depends on the person).
