Raising your vibration is one of the most important thing you can do on the spiritual path.
To hold a high vibe doesn’t mean you have it altogether all of the time (none of us do) or that you’re better than anyone else, it simply means bringing your energy into a receptive state.
A receptive state is what allows our intuition to speak to us clearly and loudly. For the Universe to guide and support us. For our intentions to materialize into reality.
In this post I want to cover some simple habits you can incorporate today to raise your overall vibration and keep your energy field clear.
The importance of a high vibe
So you might be wondering why a high vibe is important in the first place, let’s go into more detail about that.
We have physical bodies in the 3D or 3rd dimension and energy bodies that reside in the 4D or 4th dimension and higher. We are usually most connected to or aware of our physical bodies in this lifetime.
The reason we feel disconnected from our spirit is because we place more focus or importance on the 3D body. When we are awakening spiritually or connecting with our intuition, we are essentially tapping into this auric or energetic field.
Ways to raise your vibe
If we want to receive messages from our spirit or increase the consistency with which we do so, we have to get into this energy body more often. Raising our vibration is the way to do this.
A common analogy is of tuning into a radio station. If you are on the wrong frequency, even if a radio show is live, you simply won’t hear it. Hearing our intuition, connecting with our guides, receiving insight from the Universe works the very same.
1. Meditation
Maintaining a meditation practice is the most obvious way of raising our vibration. Meditation allows us to hold awareness of many different ‘realities’ at once by quieting the mind and allowing us to see things more clearly.
All you need to start is 10 minutes per day (or even less) in a relatively quiet space. Focus on the breath and whenever a thought comes to mind, just allow it to pass by and refocus.
2. Mindful walks
Going on regular mindful walks has been the biggest change I have made recently to help raise my vibration.
When we are in nature we are attuning to its vibration or frequency, which is a much slower and deliberate pace than the one we take on as humans.
Most of my insights come through mindful walks. One of the best ways to increase your intuition is to walk without a specific destination in mind (where it is safe to do so) and just let your intuition guide you.
3. Release thought loops
This is another subtle but powerful shift you can make. So often we are allowing our thoughts rather than our intuition direct our energy field.
At times we’ll experience negative thought loops that are out of our control, and it’s not necessary to stop each and every one. Holding space for our negative emotions is one of the ways we raise our vibe!
However, notice where negative thought loops are becoming unhelpful or destructive and consciously bring the focus back in.
I’ve spent the last few years working on releasing negative thought loops, especially at night. This is a time where we start to dip into slower brainwaves, and what we think more directly influences the subconscious mind.
It can be so difficult to pull ourselves away from a thought loop once it has begun, but what worked for me was reminding myself that I deserved positivity. Not as an escape from reality, but an option to face reality with.
There comes a point where you no longer want to feel bogged down by hypotheticals and imaginary arguments in the mind.
4. Sound healing
Sound healing has become a lot more accessible in the last ten years with the amount of free audios & videos you can find on YouTube.
Binaural beats are a type of brainwave entrainment that can help raise our frequency by getting us into more relaxed states – where we have deeper access to the subconscious.
Six main Solfeggio frequencies:
- UT – 396 Hz – Releasing Fear & Fear.
- RE – 417 Hz – Welcoming change.
- MI – 528 Hz – Transformation & Miracles (DNA Repair)
- FA – 639 Hz – Deeper connections.
- SOL – 741 Hz – Awakening Intuition/the third eye.
- LA – 852 Hz – Opening our spiritual connection.

I don’t believe that these tones are going to give exactly the effects that are often promised, but I like playing with them anyway.
5. Gratitude
Gratitude is perhaps the easiest on this list to implement and still has such a powerful effect.
This can be as simple as a daily gratitude list. Get out a piece of paper or open a page in your journal and just write out a few things you are grateful for. You’ll find that the more you add and with practice, it becomes easier to see what else you can be grateful for that links to the stuff you’ve already considered.
Gratitude can also be pre-emptive, what I mean by this is that there are a lot of good things making their way to you based on the work you’ve done.
Our 3D surroundings are not all there is. Often we’re looking at our physical circumstances and taking that as everything, but a lot is happening under the surface energetically. If we are doing the inner work, then things are changing and shifting in our favor, we just can’t see it yet.
So you can also practice gratitude for things you are anticipating receiving.
Another way to practice gratitude along these lines, is to thank the Universe when things go wrong. This might sound weird, but you have to remember that even the detors and obstacles help redirect you onto the right path.
Every time something goes ‘wrong’ in my life, I say ‘Thank you Universe for giving me this experience, and allowing me to grow, I am open to better’.
6. Movement
The state of the physical body affects how our energy body will appear visualize and how freely it will flow. People who can see aura, can tell when someone’s body is tied in knots or constricted, by the shape and flow of their aura.
This is why so many religious and spiritual traditions involve movement in prayer and introspective practice. You can try yoga, dance, light exercise, or just moving in a way that feels intuitive and comfortable to the body.
7. Journaling
Journaling is a great way to raise your vibration amongst other benefits.
The type of journaling you do is important though, active journaling recounting the problems of the day (although useful at times) isn’t exactly what we’re going for here.
Instead allow words to flow onto the page, regardless of how ‘silly’ it feels. The less seriously you take the activity the better. Any activity done in a state of flow will help raise your vibration.
Automatic writing is a great technique to use here. Get into a deeper state of calm with at least ten minutes of meditation, then ask your spirit guides a question and allow your writing to be intuitively led.
8. Affirmations
Whatever we are saying to ourselves consistently enough is an affirmation – so not all affirmations are positive.
Think about how many negative thought loops (that aren’t all true) we allow to circle around in the mind. Affirmation help to correct or balance this.
Affirmative can feel trite or dishonest, and at times they are. You have to find affirmations that work for you – that feel real because you are genuinely working on building that type of energy.

- I am open to guidance from ____
- I release what no longer serves me
- I welcome in the new
- I am safe now
- I take up space by _____
- I am lovingly supported
9. Grounding
In order to raise our vibe consistently we have to be grounded, in the same way that a tree is as high as its roots as deep.
An easy way to ground is to walk barefoot on grass, soil, sand – any natural body. If you don’t have access to a natural space when you need some grounding, you can visualize some roots flowing from the base of your spine into the Earth and then take several deep breaths in.
10. Visualization
Visualization is one of my favorite practices for raising my vibration. The state before sleep is one of the best times to do this, because as mentioned, we’re entering into slower brainwaves that make us more susceptible to suggestion.
I like to visualize a journey towards my goals, how things unfold, and how things ultimately end (on a positive note).
I also like to visualize a ‘good day’. Not a perfect day, just a good day that I already have reference for but don’t experience consistently enough.
You know the ones, those days where you wake up and everything just feel better. The sun is shining, people appear to be in an uplifted mood, things go smoothly at home & work. Decide what a day like this is for you and visualize it in as much detail as possible.
Top tip: Visualize while listening to theta binaural beats – these help get you into a deeper trance state.
11. Breathwork
The way we breathe affects everything else; breathwork allows us to get out of the fight or flight state and into relaxation.
4-7-8 breathing is a breathwork pattern I come back to time and time again.
Simply breathe in for 4 seconds, hold for 7 and release for 8. Having a longer exhale than inhale is what allows our body to quickly enter the parasympathetic (relaxed) state.
12. Community
I want to finish off with community, as I feel this is often overlooked. Yes, we are going to do a lot of this work alone, but that doesn’t mean we have to be isolated.
This is a big misconception of the spiritual path – that we have to be in constant isolation in order to do the inner work.
Every so often we’ll need to enter a hermit phase to block out external noise and build our energy stronger, but that is just a phase. Connecting with the right people can raise our vibration exceptionally quickly.
