As the months get colder and darker here, I am giving myself a lot more grace.
To not expect myself to do things with the same speed and energy as earlier in the year.
To be ok with noticing more shadow coming up.
To not judge myself for taking steps back & when the pull into quiet intensifies.
It is more difficult to do the mindful walks I like to do, and I know I need to give myself grace there.
Shadow work in general requires a lot of grace! Think about it this way, when we inherit a shadow, when a trigger around some aspect of our personality is forming…we are not being given grace.
When we learn to feel afraid of expression, that our creative gifts are ‘childish’ or worth little, that we take up too much space in the world somehow – the people imprinting these shadows are not giving us grace.
Oftentimes when we discover a shadow/trigger we do not give ourselves grace and instead self-criticize. When we are working through the shadow, we often do not give ourselves enough grace in the process.
A lot of people ask me where the fear of being seen comes from, and it is that same source!
If you are given grace consistently, it will be difficult to from the belief that the way you think, talk, speak, act is ‘wrong’ and should be hidden.
When people are afraid of being seen, often they get comfortable intuiting. Picking up on other peoples’ thoughts, feelings, emotions. Scanning their environment for threats or ‘off vibes’. These are all useful skills, but they mean a lot of our energy is pointed out.
When energy is pointed inwards, when we are seen, it can be very uncomfortable.
A lot of blessings can only come to us when we get comfortable being seen!
And so, if you are struggling with this, start to see where you can give yourself more grace.
If people are not making space for your creativity, insight, enthusiasm, where are you going to more consistently make space for this yourself. Spending 10-20 minutes more a day dedicating to the things that light your heart.
If you really want to embody this state, preferably spend an hour everyday making space for your light in some way (of course this is not possible for everyone). Meditating for longer, journaling more pages, spending more time reinvested in a childhood hobby.
If you are stuck, this is often what you need to push past a plateau.
Allowing yourself to be seen doesn’t mean sharing absolutely everything about yourself with everyone, instead it means knowing that what you have to share is important and with the right intention it will land correctly.
Hey there, I’m Ashley. I hope that by sharing my experiences with deepening my intuition, I can help you find that ‘spark’. That magic we can all experience when our energy is aligned and we feel deeply supported by the Universe.
