Do you constantly see the number sequence 1111? Every time you look at the clock it’s this number? In moments where you are feeling most lucid, this number shows up in some form or another?
I’m sure you’ve heard people say “It’s 11:11, make a wish!” It sounds like complete superstition, how can seeing a number mean anything important? And I understand that reservation completely!
In this post I want to explore what this ‘angel number’ really means if there any actual significance behind it.
1111: spiritual awakening
When I went through my ‘big’ spiritual awakening in 2018 I was noticing the number 111 & 1111 all of the time! This was before I knew these numbers had a specific meaning to them. When I would look at the clock or receive an important message from someone it would always come at this time.
When we go through an awakening, we get incredibly sensitive to energy. Our mind picks up on stuff that wouldn’t have crossed our radar at all before.
One of the easiest ways for the Universe or our guides to communicate with us is through numbers. There is very little to misinterpret in a number sequence – it is clear and direct.
If you are seeing this number it means your spiritual awareness is coming online. Your mind, heart, eyes are being opened to new information, that might not make complete sense now but will later.
1111: new beginnings
1111 symbolizes new beginnings. In the same way that it signals a new level of awareness or spiritual consciousness, it signals new opportunities opening up in your day to day life on a physical level.
1111 shows up when we can expect new relationships, job opportunities or a move. When you see this number sequence pay close attention to how you were feeling and what you were thinking about.
This often gives clarity on what is manifesting for you in this time of your life. Sometimes we aren’t thinking of anything in particular, but we are feeling a specific way.
Underneath every manifestation is a base emotion. If we are welcoming in more financial security for example, than we might be feeling safety, security, warmth in our bodies to represent this.
Don’t attach too much, just show some gratitude about what is coming up and allow the process to take over.
1111: alignment on your path
The final main message of 1111 is that you are getting into alignment with your higher self & soul purpose.
If you see each number as a step on a ladder, 1 is the first rung. After a few days seeing 1111 in my life it was as if there was a steady progression, and I started to see 222, 333, 444 etc.
1111 is the beginning of understanding who you are, and what you are here to do on this Earth. Beyond the ego-mind and external validation, what your heart is actually calling you towards.
1111 is sometimes refer to as a ‘light bringer’ it is that first spark of awareness that inevitably leads us down a larger path towards purpose. Consciousness in human terms can be seen as a light, when we awaken we become more attuned to it.
Angels and spirit guides, our soul or higher self can also be viewed as ‘light’. These numbers are sent ‘down’ by something higher or bigger than our human selves. We are integrating that guidance or aspect of ourselves more deeply.
Synchronicity vs overthinking
I want to add an important disclaimer. Just because we are seeing repeating numbers doesn’t mean we are receiving a spiritual message!
Sometimes we are overthinking, analyzing and intellectualizing our experiences. Sometimes our pattern recognition has increased, and we’re not discerning what information is important and what is not.
Sometimes we do receive a number sequence like this in a very lucid moment, intuitively, and we should pay attention to that. You’ll know a message is important by how it feels not just how it appears to you.
Intuitive messages and guidance make us feel relaxed, supported, and will put our bodies in a calm state.
However, we may take this experience which is real and start to check for these numbers (unconsciously). Suddenly, we’re seeing numbers everywhere, all day long. This can become overwhelming or disorienting, because at a certain point, numbers are just numbers – and they aren’t guiding us anywhere specific.
At a certain point in our journey these number sequences become less frequent, because we’re less attached to the external. Our physical realities no longer need to ‘show us’ proof of what we already know in our hearts. The Universe doesn’t have to send us messages in this way.
So, if you are seeing less number sequences, don’t worry! Take it as a sign that your awareness is becoming more embodied.
Some people do get overly obsessed with number sequences, and if we aren’t careful this can mess with our spiritual progress and get us into a very mind-heavy way of being. We focus more on the external patterns and message instead of our intuition as a whole.
What to do when you see 1111
So what next steps should you take when you see this number sequences?
As mentioned it’s a great idea to pay attention to your thoughts/feelings when you see this number. Get an idea of what is showing as important in your life or manifesting for you in the moment.
Practice gratitude! As often as we can, when we receive spiritual guidance it’s a good idea to give thanks. You’re saying to the Universe, God, your higher self (whatever way you word this) that you’ve received the message and are ready for more.
Take action in a way that will support your intuition/soul purpose. When we receive intuitive insight we do not want to let it fester and become stagnant. Having more information at our fingertips is great, but it can become a crutch if we do not take inspired action on it.
Finally, take a step back. These number sequences are helpful but not the full picture. What’s most important is tuning into your intuition, through the body/heart. Trusting yourself and acting in a way that is aligned with your higher self.
The less attached we are to external signs and symbols the deeper the messages we receive can be.
Can 1111 be an omen?
While in general 1111 doesn’t represent a negative outcome or path, all numbers can communicate positive, negative and neutral messages. The way we know what message a number is communicating is by noticing how it makes us feel.
We will experience either an expansive feeling in the body (to represent intuition and growth) or a restrictive feeling (to represent negative experience or loss).
1111 can be the start of a negative experience or journey for you – but there is nuance to this!
Sometimes something good can only be reached by going through something bad.
Sometimes we can only find the love of our lives after heartbreak. Sometimes we can only get to our dream careers, through experiencing job loss. Sometimes to become the person we want to be, we have to go through experiences that we dislike and feel uncomfortable in.
It’s important to be discerning and trust your own interpretation over anyone else’s, but 1111 is generally quite a good, affirming sign.
