How the Universe Restores Your ‘Wasted’ Years

I remember spending literal years after my awakening feeling lost, confused and unsupported.

I spent a lot of time in the hermit or cocoon phase just taking in knowledge and refining my spiritual practice.

For a while that felt like ‘wasted’ time. I wish I had focused elsewhere; I wish I had been given different opportunities.

When we go through an awakening this usually starts on a mental or intellectual level, which means that a lot of the realizations you come to are relevant to you as an individual.

You question who you are and what you are doing.

An awakening can actually activate our ego even more if we are not careful, if we are not consistent in our practice and examining our patterns & beliefs thoroughly.

We becomes very concerned with our own spiritual development and sense of ‘spiritual identity’.

I experienced this self-centeredness at the start of my awakening, as many do, without realizing this was only the first stage.

As awareness develops (or if it didn’t happen the first time) we can go through a deeper emotional and spiritual awakening, where our perspective expands to include more than just ourselves and our family unit.

You shift from feeling isolated or different because of the spiritual awareness you have regained, and start to see how each situation plays into a bigger picture.

Your mindset becomes less ‘Why me?’ more ‘Why not me?’

You shift from ‘Why is this happening to me?’ to ‘How can I use this to grow?’

You begin to see how all of your experiences play into the larger role you have to help others, not just raise your own vibration in solitude.

That is when the Universe starts to align a purposeful path in front of you.
