I hear it all the time when reading about manifestation ‘delulu is the solulu’.
If you’re here I assumed you’ve read or watched something similar. A bit of delusion is necessary in order to manifest the life of our dreams. Not taking our circumstances as final.
However I’d like to propose the opposite, you do not have to be delusional in order to manifest. In fact, most of us need to be more realistic!
I talk about this as someone who has manifested life on their life. I am long-term location & time free. Over the last two years I have been able to travel for 9 months, doing work I love with people I enjoy.
The first taste I got of manifesting success was the first big trip I had to South East Asia at the age of 18.
This was something that yes I worked towards, but I had an impenetrable belief I would get. At that age you tend to have a certain audacity that in some ways I wish I could recapture.
Everyday I was visualizing being in Asia, despite my budget, lack of familial support and the time constraints I had to save up. Eventually I had a dream I was in Asia and I knew it was done.
I got the entire budget for 3 months of travel in 1 month’s paycheque doing affiliate marketing at the time.
This created a ripple effect that lasts to this day for me. I know regardless of the circumstances, if I put my mind to something I will achieve it. If it is a true dream, not just something I want to fulfil other peoples’ expectations or look ‘good’ in comparison to others, then it will come.
Over the last few years I have manifested new types of work, a community, travel, specific types of people etc None of this has been through being delusional.
I had to be very realistic about the gifts I knew I had.
I had to be very realistic about what I knew I was capable of, the type of action I could take.
I had to be very realistic about the possibility of something good happening (equally as likely as something bad).
When people talk about delusion in relation to manifestation, I understand what they mean.
To the outside world manifesting can seem delusional. But the most important thing is that you know what you’re going after is realistic…because we can all be actually delusional.
I don’t believe everything in this world is ours. Not people, not places, not things. We all have free will and that should be respected. The world can deliver us amazing blessings and devastating tragedies.
The person whose house was blown over by a hurricane is no less positive necessarily than someone whose house stays upright. Nature is not here to appease us like a genie.
However, knowing what you do control and what you have the capacity for is also super important.
So that you can see and lean into positive opportunities when they are available to you rather than self-sabotage.
So be a bit more realistic! About the difficulties you have so you can work with them, and your strengths so you can utilize them.

Hey there, I’m Ashley. I hope that by sharing my experiences with deepening my intuition, I can help you find that ‘spark’. That magic we can all experience when our energy is aligned and we feel deeply supported by the Universe.
